Pharrell Williams has called on Californian rapper Tyler, The Creator to jointly develop a Spring 2024 menswear capsule collection for Louis Vuitton. Williams, the creative director of Louis Vuitton’s menswear, had invited Tyler to compose the soundtrack for the label’s Fall/Winter 2022 runway show, and this time he tapped his artistic vision.

“Tyler has been my close friend and collaborator for years and we’ve always connected on music and design. This collaboration is unique to Louis Vuitton because it’s a natural extension of our LVERS philosophy, building on our network of incredible artists and creatives. There are so many elements specific to Tyler built into these pieces, and it’s been inspiring to see him hone in on his craft and collaborate with him for this Spring collection,” said Williams in a press release.

The new ready-to-wear collection combines the designer duo’s signature styles: Williams’s dandyish elegance and Tyler’s refined preppy mood.

The colour palette is fresh and bold, and includes cerulean blue, apple green and fuchsia pink. The collection is characterised by a new version of the Craggy monogram, hand-drawn by Tyler and featured in pastel hues, in chocolate brown and vanilla yellow. The monogram appears on several items: a wind-breaker, a meadow green fleece jacket, a down jacket, and a denim top with matching trousers and dungarees. The collection also includes a raincoat and a leather varsity jacket with embroidered floral patch.

School uniforms were a source of inspiration, evident in the sky blue cable-knit sweater with irregular piping on the sleeves, the varsity top, the cardigan with jacquard logo, the knitted top, and a sleeveless pink sweater with a Fair Isle pattern.

Other items were inspired by the world of golfing, like the classic hemmed chinos and shorts, a reversible wind-breaker, a performance anorak, and a zipped cardigan in pink and green.

The wardrobe is completed by an accessories line, notably featuring bags with a green chequerboard motif, like the Golf bag, which also comes in a miniature cross-shoulder version. The Craggy monogram is ubiquitous, and is printed on belts too.

The collection also includes footwear, like the LV Dandy moccasins in black or brown leather, the LV Waves Derby boots, the LV Waffle pool slides, the LV Flower leather sandals, and the LV Palace mules.
