Payal Singhal opens new store in Delhi’s Dhan Mill

Womenswear designer Payal Singhal has opened an 800 square foot store in New Delhi. Located inside multi-brand luxury retailer Ogaan’s gallery space in fashion destination Dhan Mill, the store confirms the eponymous designer’s commitment to brick-and-mortar retail. 

“As someone who has always sought vintage inspirations, Payal envisioned the launch of her new flagship store in Delhi as a Bridgerton-themed tea party,” announced the brand on Facebook, sharing photos of the Regency-themed store launch over the weekend. The launch party featured opulent floral installations, canapés by Caara Food, a live bloom bar, and a live violinist. 
 
The new store launched with Payal Singhal’s ‘Modern Mughals’ collection of pastel hues traditional and fusion wear. Along with showcasing Singhal’s designs, the store is decorated with Payal Singhal’s signature print lampshades and the walls are decorated with wallpaper from the Payal Singhal x Marshall’s collaborative line. 

“As our world gets more digital, I think physical touch points are becoming even more important,” Singhal told Elle India about the store launch in an interview. “Especially when it comes to fashion and couture, the tangible experience of seeing the clothes and embroideries up close, feeling the fabrics, and trying on silhouettes cannot be replaced. A clothing and lifestyle brand like ours cannot exist purely online. Offline and online have to complement each other– one can’t do without the other.”
