Eyewear brand Opium Eyewear has recently expanded into 31 new locations in airports and malls across India as part of its plan to reach shoppers across the country. The brand also plans to open four new airport stores this month.

Opium Eyewear will open four stores in three airports this April – Opium Eyewear

Opium Eyewear will open outlets in Srinagar Airport, Pune Airport, and two in Lucknow Airport’s recently opened T3 terminal, the brand announced in a press release. The high footfall and diverse demographics of airports make them prime locations for Opium Eyewear’s strategy to make its premium eyewear more accessible and raise brand awareness.

Opium Eyewear was founded in 2010 and today has a presence in more than 1,000 opticians in India as well as 220 department stores. Opium Eyewear also counts over 31 company-owned brick-and-mortar stores in the country in a mixture of airports and malls.

“Indian eyewear leader, Opium Eyewear, announces a strategic expansion to meet the surging national demand for premium yet affordable sunglasses that combine style, functionality, and protection,” announced the brand in a press release. “This move reflects a significant shift in consumer preferences towards a more discerning approach to eyewear. Consumers today seek sunglasses that elevate their look while offering superior quality and UV protection, and the brand’s expansion will allow them to cater to this evolving market and empower more individuals to express themselves with confidence.”
