The government’s Open Network for Digital Commerce has partnered with the National Stock Exchange Academy Limited to launch ‘ONDC Academy’. Set up as a subsidiary of the National Stock Exchange of India, the Academy is designed to create equal opportunities for all sizes of sellers online.
“The Academy’s transformative impact lies in its capacity to empower millions of small traders, enabling comprehensive learning and seamless integration into e-commerce practices,” said the Department for the Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade’s joint secretary, ET Retail reported. “By equipping traders with essential knowledge, the Academy serves as a gateway for them to capitalise on the burgeoning digital commerce landscape, contributing to overall economic growth.”
The Academy will offer education and certification to online sellers to give them tools to harness e-commerce for growth. By using both textbook and video resources, the Academy aims to offer interactive educational content in multiple Indian languages which will be added and expanded gradually.
“With ONDC Academy, we aim to empower every participant of Democratic Digital Commerce- from individuals to small businesses to established brands as they become equipped with the various nuances of making the most of digital commerce,” said ONDC’s CEO and managing director T Koshy, the Economic Times reported.
