Couturier and ready-to-wear designer Manish Malhotra has launched an exclusive collection for his recently opened boutique in Dubai. ‘The World Collection’ mixes global aesthetics with the UAE’s signature hues of black and gold and Malhotra’s classic take on glamour.
“Impeccable detail, woven into every thread, shapes The World Collection: Dubai,” announced Manish Malhotra on Facebook, launching the collection’s corresponding fashion film. The collection was unveiled with a campaign shot at the Royal Opera House in Mumbai with models including Eugeniya Belousova, Alicia Kaur, and Mahieka Sharma among others.
The World Collection features a host of floor length gowns complete with matching veils and headwear. Glittering gold filigree and floral embroidery gives the effect of jewellery or armour and the collection mixes classic South Asian, Middle Eastern, and Western silhouettes to cater to the diverse clientele of Malhotra’s Dubai flagship store.
Manish Malhotra opened an exclusive brand outlet on Fashion Avenue inside Dubai Mall to connect with non-resident Indians in the area, locals, and tourists alike. The store opened its doors to the public in December last year, FashionNetwork.com reported. The interior measures 5,000 square feet and was designed by celebrity interior designer Gauri Khan who worked with the eponymous designer himself.
