Malabar Gold opens first showroom in Canada

Indian jewellery retailer Malabar Gold & Diamonds has entered the Canadian market with the launch of its first showroom in Mississauga, at Heartland Town Centre within the Greater Toronto Area.

The store spread across an area of over 7,800 sq ft is the largest jewellery showroom in Canada, housing over 30,000 designs across 25 exclusive brands and collections in gold, diamond, and precious gem jewellery.

The Mississauga showroom will also offer a customised jewellery designing facility, presenting customers with the option to design their own jewellery with the assistance of the brand’s expert designers and craftsmen.

Commenting on the launch, M P Ahamed, chairman of Malabar Group in a statement said, “The opening of our first showroom in Canada brings me immense pride and joy, marking a significant milestone for us as the first Indian international jewellery brand to begin operations in Canada.”

Shamlal Ahamed, director of Malabar Gold added, “As Canada and the US stand out as highly appealing destinations for Indian sub-continental expatriates in the Western hemisphere, the North American market presents vast potential and we have ambitious expansion plans in the region, covering British Columbia and Alberta in Canada. Concurrently, in the US, we are set to expand into Naperville, Chicago; Artesia, Los Angeles; and Atlanta, Georgia.”

Canada is the 12th country in Malabar’s global operational map and the second in North America. It currently has an extensive retail presence of over 335 showrooms spread across UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Singapore, Malaysia, the US, the UK, Canada, and India.
