In this role, Cheung will lead the company’s global design team and report directly to chief product officer, Sun Choe. In particular, he will play a pivotal part in shaping Lululemon’s global creative strategy, with a specific focus on creating a roadmap for product design that reflects an “inspiring creative vision”.

A seasoned professional with 30 years of experience in creative and business leadership, his background includes recent consulting roles with brands such as Gap, Merrell, and Pangaia. Prior to his consultancy work, Cheung was senior vice president of design and design innovation at Levi’s. He succeeds Phil Dickinson, who passed away last May.

Coinciding with Cheung’s appointment, Lululemon has also named JJ Collier to the newly established role of vice president design for outerwear.

Collier, reporting to Cheung, will spearhead the oversight of the brand’s men’s and women’s outerwear teams. Likewise, he is expected to drive the delivery of guest-centric category innovations across both performance and casual assortments.

Collier recently founded and led the design consultancy Collier Brands. His career spans 20 years, including senior design roles in the UK and France at companies such as Salomon, Ralph Lauren, and Spyder Active Sports. Notably, he served as the senior director of apparel innovation concepts at VF Corp, where he played a key role in initiating sustainable design practices across various apparel brands within the group.
