Retail and real estate business Lulu Group has opened its first shopping mall in Hyderabad. The new mall is located in Kukatpally, features a Lulu hypermarket, and is part of Lulu Griup’s wider investment plan for Telangana.
“Hyderabad, your overwhelming response on our opening day warmed our hearts,” announced Lulu Mall Hyderabad on its new Facebook page on September 28. “Thank you for choosing LuLu Mall as your shopping destination. We look forward to creating more magical moments together.”
The mall’s inauguration ceremony welcomed Telangana’s IT minister KT Rama Rao as chief guest and saw Lulu Group’s founder and head Yusuff Ali M A open the mall. Following the opening, Rama Rao took to X (formerly Twitter) to share that Lulu Group plans to invest mini malls, agricultural sourcing, logistics, and processing hub, all in the state of Telangana.
“This marks the dawn of a new era in shopping and entertainment,” announced the mall on Facebook. “Embark on an extraordinary journey through LuLu Mall Hyderabad, where every corner tells a story of shopping bliss and entertainment galore!”
Lulu Group counts a number of malls in India including in Lucknow and Kochi. Lulu malls feature a mix of Indian and international brands with a focus on fashion and lifestyle products.
“We had made many rounds of fruitful discussions with the government of Telangana, and the speed with which they approved the project is commendable,” said Yusuff Ali about the project, India Retailing reported. “Also, it’ll ensure a world-class shopping experience in Hyderabad. Also, planned multiple investments in the state including food sourcing and exporting centres.”
