French luxury fashion brand Louis Vuitton plans to open its largest flagship store in India to date in Mumbai. The LVMH brand has picked up a retail space at Reliance Industries’ Jio World Plaza in the metro’s Bandra-Kurla Complex.
Louis Vuitton has signed a long-term lease of 9.5 years on the Mumbai space through its Indian business ‘Louis Vuitton India Retail’, ET Bureau reported. The store will be Louis Vuitton’s second in Mumbai and fourth in India overall following its other stores in Delhi’s DLF Emporio and Bengaluru’s UB City.
The upcoming Mumbai store will measure 7,365 square feet and will be spread across three stores located on the mall’s elevated ground floor. The lease transaction for the store was registered on August 21, the Economic Times reported. The fit-out period for the space has been set at 150 days and the security deposit totalled Rs 2.43 crore.
The Louis Vuitton store’s lease has been set to start in February 2023 and the store will be in operation until December 2032. Louis Vuitton has recently turned its focus to the Indian market and announced Bollywood celebrity Deepika Padukone as its first ever Indian brand ambassador in 2022.
