LVMH is passionate about podcasting. After the “Journées Particulières” event, which revealed the men and women behind the expertise of the luxury giant’s houses; the “Tips of the tops” series, which presented the careers of the group’s strongest women; and the four seasons of “Dior Talks”, which showcased the inspirations of Maria Grazia Chiuri, it is now Louis Vuitton that is to launch its own podcast.
Louis Vuitton, one of the world’s leading luxury brands, is to use this medium, with a series called Louis Vuitton [Extended]. And to lead this immersion into the world of the luxury house, is none other than fashion journalist and documentary maker Loïc Prigent. In a bi-monthly series, the Frenchman meets the people behind the brand’s identity in 20- to 40-minute interviews.
For this first podcast, who better than the much-hyped new creative director of the men’s collections, Pharrell Williams? In an interview recorded around his first fashion show for the brand, on June 20 on the Pont Neuf in Paris, the American takes us behind the scenes of this major event and shares his different inspirations. Loïc Prigent also went to meet Bishop Ezekiel Williams, Pharrell Williams’ uncle, who conducted the Voices on Fire choir during the show’s closing ceremony.
Louis Vuitton already had its own publishing house, offering its own travel books and city guides. By producing Extended, its own podcast, Louis Vuitton intends to give voice to its talents, whether they be Nicolas Ghesquière, creative director of the women’s collections, Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud, master perfumer or Francesca Amfitheatrof, creative director of watches and jewellery. The series will also showcase artistic, cultural and sporting personalities, such as chef Arnaud Donckele and pastry chef Maxime Frédéric at the Louis Vuitton restaurant in Saint-Tropez. Louis Vuitton [Extended] is available from Wednesday on Deezer, Amazon Music, Spotify, Soundcloud, Apple Podcasts and Podcast Addict.
