“Lenskart is looking for 25 acres of land within 60 km of Kempegowda Bengaluru International Airport to build its next mega factory,” wrote Lenskart’s CEO Peyush Bansal on Linkedin on April 9. “If any company is looking to sell factory land near the Bengaluru airport, please send an email.”

Just a few minutes later, Karnataka’s minister of industries M B Patil replied on Linkedin, “Karnataka is the place to be! @peyushbansal @Lenskart_com Industries Department is here to support you and facilitate all your needs. Concerned officials will reach out, immediately.”

Patil has since given instructions to relevant government officials to offer their help to Bansal and Lenskart to help the business to establish a unit in the state, sources told the Press Trust of India. Setting up a new, large scale production unit in the state would lead to the creation of numerous employment opportunities.

Lenskart also recently launched French eyewear brand Le Petit Lunetier exclusively on its e-commerce store and in select brick-and-mortar locations to bolster its international product offering, the business announced on Facebook. Le Petit Lunetier’s men’s and women’s eyewear line has a retro aesthetic and its frames are designed in Paris, France.
