Jaipur Rugs launches collaboration with late jeweller Jocelyn Burton, launches Dubai store

Textiles and carpet business Jaipur Rugs has partnered with the late jeweller and artist Jocelyn Burton to launch an exclusive luxury collection. The brand also recently expanded its retail presence in the UAE and opened an exclusive brand outlet in Dubai.

Jaipur Rugs’ collaborative line is titled ‘Jaipur Rugs x Jocelyn Burton’ and features a selection of 100% pure silk textile rugs inspired by Burton’s jewellery and silversmithing, Indian Retailer Bureau reported. The British artist and jeweller’s work has served as inspiration for Jaipur Rugs’ latest designs as her 3D objects are reimagined in 2D. 
 
The collection was made by a team of 30 artisans across two workshops. A total of 90 individuals were involved in the full manufacturing process including weaving, dyeing, and finishing. Burton had worked with Jaipur Rugs on the collection until she passed away and the line was completed after her passing. 

“Having done some prominent work with an esteemed stone inlay atelier based in Jaipur, Jocelyn was introduced to Jaipur Rugs in 2018 through a mutual friend, and soon the idea was born of using Jocelyn’s jewellery and silverware designs as the basis of a collection of handmade rugs,” said Jocelyn Burton Studio’s managing director Ken Mannering, Indian Retailer Bureau reported.
 
Jaipur Rugs recently opened a new exclusive brand outlet in Dubai, the brand announced on Facebook. The spacious, bright store is designed to function as an immersive art gallery to showcase Jaipur Rugs’ designs. 
 
“Join us on an extraordinary journey of rug exploration as we invite you to our Dubai Rug store- a testament to bold innovation and breathtaking design,” announced the brand on Facebook, sharing photos of the new space. “Within these walls, the slide-through racks unfurl like the pages of a captivating storybook.”
