The winners of this season’s GenNext include Chennai-based designer Arnav Malhotra of No Grey Area, a brand which seeks to solve fabric waste issues with innovative solutions, INIFD announced in a press release. Eponymous designer Sonam Khetan was also chosen as a winner for her luxury rendering of natural and handloom fabrics.

Prasoon Sharma of the brand Triune was chosen as the third winner for earthy designs which look at the relationship between humans and the environment. The shortlisted entries to the program were presented to a jury including fashion designer Amit Aggarwal before the winners were selected.

“Embracing the future of fashion begins with the creative minds we discover and foster through the GenNext program at Lakmé Fashion Week X FDCI,” said Hindustan Unilever’s vice president Harman Dhillon in a press release. “As we return to Delhi, this season’s GenNext designers represent not only the resilience and creativity of a new era but also our commitment towards identifying, nurturing, and empowering young talents who will sculpt the future of global fashion with the transformative power of artistry. We are thrilled to spotlight the GenNext winners as they unfold their creativity, in line with Lakmé’s vision as a fashion forward beauty brand with product lines and collection themes bringing forth a blend of fresh perspectives and avant-garde styles that will illuminate the path for the future of fashion.”

The next edition of Lakmé fashion week in partnership with FDCI will take place from October 11 to 15 in New Delhi. To date, the GenNext program has established more than 250 designers in the Indian fashion industry and beyond.

“The GenNext program offers outstanding young talent in the country a prestigious platform like ours to debut and showcase their work to industry leaders in a competitive fashion environment,” said Reliance Brands’ group vice president Jaspreet Chandok. “For a decade and more, this initiative has successfully introduced remarkable designers, some of whom have achieved recognition in both the Indian and global fashion arenas. From the highly promising entries, the winners of the 36th batch of GenNext designers have been carefully selected, and I am excited to witness their growth and success in the fashion industry.”
