Inditex has refreshed the leadership of Zara Woman. Following Ana Risueño’s departure, who previously held the position, the Galician giant has embraced internal talent and selected Lorena Rodríguez to lead this division.
Zara Woman constitutes the women’s offering of Inditex’s flagship along with its other two lines, Basic and Trafaluc. The women’s division of Zara as a whole is overseen by Beatriz Padín, an executive with a extensive career in the group – she joined in 1985 – and close to the Ortega family, as reported by La Voz de Galicia newspaper.
While the reasons for Ana Risueño’s departure, who had been with Inditex for over a decade, remain undisclosed, the aforementioned outlet suggests it was a personal request from the executive.
For the succession in Zara Woman, one of the key business drivers for the conglomerate’s largest brand, Inditex has opted for internal promotion. Thus, the new head of this division, Lorena Rodríguez, previously worked in the department that the company refers to as Circular, which supplies product to the three divisions of Zara for women.
The Galician giant unveiled its results for the fiscal year 2023 just a few weeks ago, reporting a net profit of €5.381 billion, a 30.3% increase from the previous year. In terms of revenue, the Spanish company posted sales of €35.947 billion, a 10.4% increase from the previous year.
Meanwhile, Zara – which presents its results jointly with Zara Home – recorded sales of €26.050 billion and once again emerged as the leading brand of the group in terms of business volume.
