The Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery held jewellery exhibition Glimpz 23 at its Andheri location and welcomed jewellery names from across the region to view intricate designs by the next generation of Indian designers.
From July 28, the Glimpz Exhibition presented unique jewellery designs by IIGJ graduating students, IIGJ Mumbai announced on Instagram. The event also featured a jewellery design contest.
“Glimpz is not just an exhibition of unique and marvellous jewellery collections created by graduating jewellery designers at IIGJ Mumbai,” announced the IIGJ on Facebook. “It is the class competition for annual awards in categories such as Best Design, Best Craftsmanship, Best Visual Merchandising, Best Innovative Product, and others. A panel of distinguished and erudite jury members scrutinises each piece of jewellery by each student and awards marks based on some rather stringent criteria. Every aspect of jewellery creation learned by students over nearly three years is reflected in the final products on display at Glimpz.”
De Beers Forevermark India’s vice president Amit Pratihari attended the event as chief guest, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion announced on its website. Pratihari gave a speech and highlighted the importance of discipline, consistency, and creativity for finding success in the Indian jewellery industry.
“An honour to be on the jury of Glimpz ‘23 and to mentor young minds,” wrote juror and designer Laksh Pahuja on Facebook. “The design and concepts were quite unique and I foresee a great future for India.”
