IIFT student showcase explores global cultures at Bangalore Fashion Week

A group of students from the Indian Institute of Fashion Technology showcased designs inspired by world cultures and nature on the runway at the Silver Jubilee Edition of Bangalore Fashion Week as part of the fashion week’s Student Showcase.

The runway show took place at Bengaluru’s The Oterra hotel and featured music by BFW Tunes, Bangalore Fashion Week announced on Facebook. The event took place in collaboration with style partner Wear Dot Style and sensation partner BikiniFestival.In, curated and produced by Dream Merchants. 
 
“Showcasing the next generation of fashion designers from IIFT Bilaspur we saw a uniquely crafted and versatile fashion show in the amazing runway at BFW 25th Silver Jubilee Edition,” the event organisers announced on Facebook. 

The runway show featured a diverse array of looks with gold and silver metallic textiles taking centre stage. Some looks took their inspiration from Ancient Egypt and were adorned with gold Hieroglyphs while others nodded to Rococo era France with statement crinolines, baskets, and floral bouquets. 
 
Bangalore Fashion Week ran from March 8 to 10 at The Oterra in Bengaluru. The fashion week featured runway shows by designers and brands including Alexander and Sanjay M, Anamika Jaisinghani, and Butterfly Clothing and Accessories by Rishan Pariat among others.
