Fast fashion brand H&M has opened its first store in Ranchi which is its 53rd store in India to date. The outlet retails men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing and accessories and is located in the recently launched Mall of Ranchi.
“The journey continues, today it is in Ranchi,” wrote H&M’s chief financial officer – country controller for India Louis Coucke on Linkedin. “Fashion has a new destination! H&M is now open at Mall of Ranchi, See you there!”
The Swedish brand has expanded its brick-and-mortar in India since it entered the country around nine years ago. With its new store in Jharkhand, H&M has expanded its presence in East India to cater to brand conscious, non-metro consumers.
The Mall of Ranchi first opened its doors at the end of July. The mall is run by real estate and construction company Pranami Group. Bijay Kumar Agarwal launched the business in Ranchi in 2002 and Pranami Group provides both commercial and residential properties.
Ranchi is located in the state of Jharkhand and is an up-and-coming industrial region, according to Pranami Group’s brochure for the mall, available on its website. H&M joins a wide range of Indian and international brands in the 3 lakh square foot mall including Biba, Arrow, Max Fashion, and Marks & Spencer among others.
