Bi-annual home textiles and homeware trade show HGH India inaugurated its 15th edition in Mumbai on July 2. The event will run until July 5 and will see around 2,500 product launches from close to 700 Indian and international brands.

HGH India has brought together home textile businesses from across India – Ankur Textiles- Facebook

“Over the years, HGH India has become a platform which has been facilitating the growth of industry, growth of trade, design, and innovation,” said HGH India’s managing director Arun Roongtasaid in a press release. “We have had close to 40,000 pre-registrations from over 600 cities and towns across India, and the indications are that the total number of visitors are likely to exceed 41,240 visitors of last July. This clearly reflects an overwhelming interest of the trade in once again visiting HGH India to explore new business opportunities in the ever-evolving Indian market and stay ahead of their competitors. I am sure you will see a lot of new energy at this edition of HGH India.”

The trade show has launched at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai with guest of honour, Roop Rashi, IA&AS, textile commissioner at the Government of India’s Ministry of Textiles. Spread across four halls and an area of 50,000 square feet, the event aims to bring the home textiles and homeware industry’s focus back to the domestic market in India with participation from industry members from 32 countries.

“It is a matter of pleasure and privilege to be at HGH India, a show of this stature, which is promoting the industry and bringing the focus back to the domestic market,” said Roop Rashi. “India makes 95% of the World’s handwoven fabric. The focus of the Ministry of Textile is to make best quality products for our country and abroad. We want to increase employment opportunities; at this moment we provide employment to 5.4 crore people, directly and indirectly. We would always encourage platforms like HGH India as they are bringing the Home Textiles industry together, with focus on India.”

The event will feature brands and manufacturers for home retailers, architects, interior designers, distributors, and institutional buyers. The next edition of HGH India will take place from December 3 to 6 in Bengaluru.
