Haircare brand Redken launches in Indian market

Global professional haircare brand Redken has launched in the Indian market. Redken’s hair colours and treatments will be available in select Redken salons and on multi-brand beauty platform Nykaa, as well as in an upcoming flagship in Mumbai.

“In the recent years, there has been a substantial growth in the number of young affluent consumers in India,” said L’Oréal India’s professional products division director D.P. Sharma in a press release. “These consumers are quite individualistic, experimentative [sic] and are willing to spend on specialised products and services best suited to their specific needs. We feel that this is the right time to bring a global brand like Redken to India which offers a performance driven, comprehensive portfolio to this evolved cohort.” 
 
For its India launch, Redken has also named entrepreneur and hair stylist Florian Hurel as its India pro ambassador. Hurel will soon launch his first hair salon ‘Florian Hurel Hair Couture’ in association with Redken Walkeshwar, South Mumbai. The store will act as Redken’s first flagship in India and will offer its products and treatments. 

“I am excited to come on board as the Pro Ambassador for Redken India, supporting a brand where creativity knows no bounds,” said Hurel. “From cutting-edge trends to hair perfection, I look forward to elevating professional hair experiences in collaboration with Redken.” 
 
Entrepreneur Paula Kent founded Redken in the US over 60 years ago. The brand is based in New York City and all products are tested by salon professionals.
