Outdoor clothing brand Gokyo has expanded its product offering and launched an exclusive womenswear collection. The new line is designed to provide comfort and functionality for Indian women trekkers and explorers.
The new Gokyo women’s line features trekking pants and apparel such as zip-up tops which have been tailored to both Indian women’s body types and the country’s varied terrain, the brand announced in a press release. The launch marks a departure from the “one-size-fits-all approach” prevalent in the trekking gear industry, according to Gokyo.
Garments in the line have been divided into three collections: ‘Explorer’ for warm weather, ‘Alpine’ for mild cold conditions, and ‘Sherpa’ for extreme cold. The brand aims to tap into the increasing number of Indian women pursuing trekking and other similar activities and has launched the line on its direct to customer e-commerce store.
“Beyond functionality, Gokyo design team has delved into the rich tapestry of Indian culture to infuse the collection with elements that resonate with the Indian women’s trekker spirit,” announced the brand in a press release. “The collection aims not only to meet the technical demands of outdoor activities but also to make the Indian women feel equally fashionable as their co-explorers from the West.”
