FMCG firm Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL) reported a 21 percent rise in net profit to Rs 433 crore ($52 million) for the second quarter, as against Rs 359 crore in the year-ago period.
The company’s revenue for the quarter rose by 6 percent to Rs 3,602 crore, as against Rs 3,391 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year.
Commenting on the results, Sudhir Sitapati, managing director CEO of GCPL in a statement said, “We delivered a steady performance in 2Q FY2024, despite the tough operating environment. Our consolidated volumes grew in double-digits at 10 percent while sales grew by 6 per cent. Sales in constant currency terms grew by 16 percent.”
“We continue to remain focused on driving volume-led growth along with healthy investments in our brands and improvement in profitability. We continue to have a strong balance sheet,” Sitapati added.
GCPL owned by the Godrej Group is one of India’s leading players in the personal care and cosmetics market.
