Representatives from the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council travelled to Dubai to attend the fifth edition of the Retail Jeweller Dubai Forum, which launched on February 27. The traders’ body aims to promote greater import and export ties between India and the UAE.
The Retail Jeweller Dubai Forum kicked off at the Hyatt Regency in Diera to bring together members of the global jewellery industry, he GJEPC reported on its website. The GJEPC’s convenor of national exhibitions Nirav Bhansali gave the first address at the event, following its inauguration on Tuesday morning, according to the official event schedule.
Bhansali gave a presentation about how the Indian gem and jewellery industry contributes to trade relations between India and the UAE. Bhansali detailed the GJEPC’s role in bringing the best of Indian jewellery manufacturing to the world’s buyers and wholesalers and its potential for future growth. Bhansali also spoke about a number of GJEPC initiatives which are tailored to international buyers including the India Jewellery Exposition Centre, where international buyers can source Indian jewellery in Dubai, and its upcoming trade show ‘International Gem & Jewellery Show’, which is scheduled to take place in October this year.
The Retail Jeweller Dubai Forum is powered in Dubai Jewellery Group. On Tuesday, the event also featured a panel on young, up and coming names in the industry featuring entrepreneur jewellers Harshil Suru of Himat Jewellers and Akshay Jetwani of R&M Jewellers among others.
