On February 28, a number of GJEPC representatives including its SEZ sub-committee co-convener Ashish Kothari met with the Embassy of France in India’s trade commissioner Eric Fajole to discuss ways to boost trade ties, the GJEPC reported on its website. The meeting focused on the luxury industry, including design and innovation.

The GJEPC, which is supported by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, also reached its largest membership milestone to date. With regional offices in New Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Surat, and Jaipur, the traders’ body organises both domestic and international events to promote the Indian jewellery industry.

“We are delighted to announce that GJEPC has reached a historic milestone of 10,000 members, making it one of the largest and most influential EPCs in India,” said the GJEPC’s chairman Vipul Shah, the GJEPC reported on its website. “This achievement reflects the resilience, innovation, and excellence of the Indian gem and jewellery industry, which has overcome many challenges and emerged stronger in the global market. Furthermore, it underscores the growing participation of domestic players in the export sector, signalling positive outcomes for both exports and the nation’s economy. We thank all our members for their trust and support, and we look forward to serving them with more initiatives and benefits in the future.”
