Luxury handbag brand Gioia has expanded its product offering and launched a resort collection. The new line features bright hues of blue and red and a mix of youthful and classic designs.
“In designing our collection, we took inspiration from our relationships with our loved ones and the numerous moments we have come to cherish with them,” said Gioia’s co-founders Diksha and Vashisht Bhatia in a press release. “When we looked back at these moments, we remembered a whole lot of love, laughter and quirkiness. As a result, we thought it fitting to go beyond the usual black and brown and include a whole lot of bright colours from red to yellow and blue. Even in the material used, we decided to go with a lot of patent leather as an ode to the moments when our most authentic selves shine through.”
The brand recently held a launch event to herald the opening of its flagship store in Mumbai’s Phoenix Market City. The Kurla store houses Gioia’s full selection of women’s handbags.
“Each relationship is different and special in its own way,” said Diksha and Vashisht Bhatia. “While some make you feel secure, others are your go-to for celebrations that extend late into the night. We reflected this in the variety of styles we launched with, from large totes and top-handle bags to our cross-bodies and mini bags. When people ask us what business we are in, it’s simple : We are in the business of spreading happiness and helping people achieve a state of Gioia. Our brand was developed because people were looking for a functional, lightweight and versatile bags. Not only did we deliver to our promise, but we designed bags that carry stuff while simultaneously provide a sense of comfort.”
Gioia sources the leather for its handbags from Leather Working Group certified tanneries and works with artisans in its Sedex Certified factories. Furthermore, the brand’s packaging is ethically sourced and FSC certified.
