The Gemological Institute of America’s India chapter held a training seminar for Finestar Jewellery and Diamonds staff in Surat on the topic ‘Fancy-shape Diamonds’. The event was designed to equip over 30 staff members with professional knowledge on diamonds.
“We thank GIA India for conducting the seminar to educate our staff,” said Finestar Jewellery and Diamonds’ president Nanjibhai Vaghasiya, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council reported on its website. “It was helpful for our staff to learn many new aspects of fancy-shaped diamond grading through these seminars. We are thankful to Apoorva-ji for visiting our factory to congratulate the participants and for sharing his experiences with the staff.”
By educating its staff on professional diamond grading, the business aims to arm them with knowledge to boost consumer confidence when shopping for precious stones. The seminar covered topics including fancy-shape diamond cutting styles, facet arrangement, and symmetry grading.

GIA India also recently held a training programme for the sales staff of Mulkh Raj Ashok Kumar Jewellers in Jammu, the organisation announced on Facebook. The covered the ‘4Cs’ of diamond quality, the GIA international diamond grading system, lab-grown diamonds, and GIA grading reports among other industry topics. The aim of the event was to give the sales staff knowledge and confidence when answering customers’ queries.
