Geisha Designs by Paras & Shalini presented a glittering collection of statement gowns on the runway on day one of Lakmé Fashion Week x Fashion Design Council of India. The brand’s evening wear collection ‘Profusion’ concluded with actress Alaya F walking the runway in sheer separates.
“Presenting Alaya F as our muse for our latest collection – Profusion Evening Occasion Wear 2023 wearing the ‘Nocturnal Enigma: The Tassel Tempest Ensemble’ featuring abstract beaded embroidered pants with a matching bralet top at Lakme Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI,” announced the brand on Facebook, sharing images of the Bollywood star in her showstopper ensemble.
Alaya F’s daring backless ensemble epitomised the collection’s bold take on feminine glamour. Other gowns featured fish-scale-esque details and slinky skirts while sparkling blazers provided structure.
A few menswear looks peppered the collection with disco inspired white suits. This disco inspiration was also seen on swirling striped, purple gowns and metallic hues used throughout ‘Profusion’. The brand described the collection as, “a journey where couture becomes an expression of the extraordinary symphony of life itself,” on Facebook.
Lakmé Fashion Week x Fashion Design Council of India runs from October 11 to 15 at the Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. The fashion week also features a Designer Stockroom shopping fair and student design showcases.
