Famed couturier Gaurav Gupta has returned to ready to wear and launched a newly revamped, international e-commerce store. The move brings Gupta’s eponymous brand to a global audience and presents an opportunity to expand into a more commercial market.
“Straight out of Central Saint Martins, I started the brand’s journey with ready to wear and soon shifted the focus to the possibilities of the Indian couture market,” announced Gupta on Facebook. “After almost 18 years of the brand conception, we are relaunching ready to wear with a revamped website. To me, it’s like a birth of a whole new world and I’m eagerly looking forward to it.”
The new ready to wear segment of the website has sections for dress, tops and shirts, gowns, trousers, skirts, and tuxedos and jackets. The e-commerce store offers complimentary shipping worldwide and also offers a ‘ship to store’ option for shoppers in India.
The website also has a segment for haute couture and shoppers can browse Gupta’s latest designs shown from India to Paris. To order haute couture pieces, interested persons can book an appointment through the website.
Based in New Delhi, Gaurav Gupta co-founded his label in 2005 with his brother Saurabh Gupta, according to the brand’ website. The brand now counts five stores in India and also retails internationally in multi-brand boutiques including Neiman Marcus, Moda Operandi, and Bergdorf Goodman.
