“Gap launched its three stores at Udupi, Mysore, and Hyderabad in a single day,” wrote Gap’s channel head Mukesh Sinha on Linkedin. The launches follow on from Gap’s recent 7,000 square foot store launch in Pune’s Amanora Mall.

The new Hyderabad store is located in the metro’s Next Premia Mall in Punjagutta’s Irram Manzil Colony. The new store retail’s Gap’s men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing and accessories collections.

Gap retails in India through Reliance Retail, which signed a long-term franchise agreement with the brand in July last year to bring the label to the country for a second time. Gap had previously retailed in India with Arvind Fashions but the two businesses parted ways in 2020.

Reliance Retail is expanding Gap’s brick-and-mortar presence across India with a mixture of exclusive brand outlets, of which it now counts over 20, and shop in shops, which currently total over 100, India Retailing reported. Reliance Retail has also launched Gap across numerous e-commerce platforms in India.

Donald Fisher and Doris F. Fisher launched Gap in 1969 in California, US. The business has four main brands: Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, and Athleta and media reports have suggested that Reliance Retail may bring more of its brands to India following its agreement in 2022.
