Taking everyone by surprise, Chris Hollis, LVMH‘s director of financial communications, announced at the analysts’ conference on Tuesday evening (July 25) that this would be his last presentation on the occasion of the company’s first-half results. He is retiring after twenty-three years with the luxury giant.
“It has been an extraordinary experience”, he said, not without emotion, indicating that Rodolphe Ozun, Deputy Director of Financial Communications, would succeed him. The surprise announcement triggered a series of affectionate comments from financial analysts as they asked questions during the conference.
Before joining LVMH at the end of 2000, Chris Hollis worked for fifteen years in the oil industry. He held various finance positions at Elf Aquitaine, in London, Paris, the Sultanate of Brunei and New York. He has also been active in Cliff, the French association of financial communication professionals. He was its chairman from 2014 to 2018.
Rodolphe Ozun worked for Bank of America Merril Lynch, where he was in charge of the luxury goods sector, before joining Bernard Arnault‘s group in 2014.
LVMH posted a first-half net profit of €8.5 billion, up 30% on the first half of 2022, and sales of €42.2 billion (+17%)
