The rumours have been going around since last June. Particularly during the last Paris Fashion Week, when Stefano Pilati was seen at Kim Jones’ show for Dior and modelling at Pharrell Williams‘ first show for Louis Vuitton. The collaboration with Kim Jones and Fendi, another LVMH label, has now been confirmed. The Italian designer will create a collection for the Roman fashion house, according to a spokesperson.

The collaboration is a women’s and men’s 2024 pre-fall collection and will be launched on October 26 with a dedicated campaign and several in-store activations in London, Dubai, New York, Tokyo, Seoul and Hong Kong.

Kim Jones is very fond of Stefano Pilati as a designer. During his intense career, the 58-year-old Italian has worked with some of the most prestigious fashion houses. After working for Cerruti, Giorgio Armani and Prada, he became Yves Saint Laurent’s creative director until 2012, before moving to Ermenegildo Zegna. In 2018, he launched his own menswear label called Random Identities, which is very much oriented towards an indefinable “no gender” style.

It is this same fluid approach, fusing masculine and feminine codes, that characterises his contribution for Fendi. This collaboration is part of a new project called “Friends of Fendi”, which will focus on collaborations and special collections.

Since joining Fendi in 2020, taking the reins of women’s ready-to-wear and haute couture, Kim Jones has already forged important collaborations with other designers. In particular, with Donatella Versace for the Fendace collection, unveiled at a show in Milan in September 2021, and with Marc Jacobs for the anniversary collection of the Baguette bag, which was shown in New York a year later.
