The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) will host its first-ever ‘Weeding Weekend’ event on August 5 and 6 in the national capital city of New Delhi.
India’s leading couturiers will participate in the first ever ramp-to-retail concept that will offer brides and grooms-to-be an opportunity to acquire wedding collections showcased during the India Couture Week.
The event will also see participation from top jewellers, wedding professionals, and international luxury brands.
Commenting on the initiative, Sunil Sethi chairman of FDCI in a statement said, “The FDCI Wedding Weekend will redefine the concept of wedding showcases in India. We bring together coveted couturiers, jewellers, and wedding professionals under one roof, along with some of the best international luxury brands.”
“The Indian wedding and luxury fashion market is set for a boom, and everyone is in a celebratory mood. This event will serve as the perfect platform for shopping festive couture as well as red-carpet-worthy creations,” he added.
Prior to the Wedding Weekend, FDCI is scheduled to be host the 16th edition of the India Couture Week in New Delhi from July 25 to August 2.
