Eye care brand Essilor has named celebrity cricketer Virat Kohli as its brand ambassador for India, harnessing his pan-India appeal. Kohli stars in a new multi-media advertising campaign for the global brand which was made with creative agency Network Advertising.
“Virat Kohli’s appeal and pursuit of excellence are aligned to Essilor’s commitment to innovation and quality,” said Essilor Luxottica’s South Asia country head Narasimhan Narayanan in a press release on August 4. “His credibility and popularity among diverse demographics will help raise awareness about the significance of clear and healthy vision at all ages, while emphasising Essilor’s innovative technology and superior line of products. This is the start of a new and exciting chapter as we remain committed to create a testament to the brand’s dedication to empowering individuals to see the world with clarity and confidence.”
The campaign features Essilor brands Stellest®, Eyezen® and Varilux® which Kohli showcases in the campaign. Essilor’s Crizal® invisible shield to protect its lenses also features, hilighted by Kohli taking part in activities where eye protection is needed.

Essilor is a brand in the Essilor Luxottica portfolio which is a global eyeglass lens business. “Essilor has for long been helping us see better without being seen themselves,” said Network Advertising’s chief creative officer Akashneel Dasgupta. “This campaign is the first effort by the brand to make people aware of the mother brand.”
