Emami Ltd posts Q2 net profit of Rs 180 crore

Emami Ltd reported a flat net profit growth at Rs 180 crore ($22.5 million) for the second quarter that ended on September 30, 2023. It had posted Rs 180 crore in the July-September quarter a year ago.

The company’s revenue for the quarter rose by 6 percent to Rs 864 crore, as against Rs 814 crore reported in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year.

Emami’s total expenses during the July-September quarter increased by 2 percent to Rs 631 crore.

Commenting on the results, Mohan Goenka, vice chairman of Emami Ltd in a statement said, “Despite macroeconomic challenges, we achieved a 6% revenue growth. Notably, our gross margins expanded by 350 basis points, showcasing our operational excellence. EBIDTA soared by 20%, with margins expanding by 300 basis points, underscoring our dedication to value and quality.”

“With the government’s support creating favourable conditions in rural markets, we’re poised for a strong second half, amplifying our market presence,” Goenka added.

Emami is one of India’s leading fast moving consumer goods companies with brands such as Navratna, BoroPlus, Fair & Handsome, Zandu Balm, Mentho Plus and Kesh King among others.
