Luxury womenswear brand Ekaya has joined forces with homeware label Objectry to launch a range of scented candles inspired by the Banarasi handloom textiles Ekaya is known for using in its designs.

Ekaya’s collaboration with Objectry will go live on February 10 – Ekaya- Facebook

“For the first time ever, Ekaya x Objectry unveils a collection of scented candles inspired by the essence of Banarasi textiles- an heirloom of artistry, tradition, and emotion,” announced Ekaya on Facebook. “Meant to capture the very soul of a saree- these candles have been curated to resemble the elegant thread reels that bring a Banarasi to life. Infused with the soft, floral notes if mimosa and ylang ylang, reminiscent of the handwoven motifs that adorn generations-old Banarasi silks, this fragrance whispers tales of nostalgia, celebration, and quiet luxury.”

The holders for the scented candles resemble spools of metallic thread, available in hues of copper, midnight blue, magenta, ivory, and mink among others. Objectry retails its conceptual homeware from its direct to customer e-commerce store. The brand aims to “find joy and celebrate the simplicity of design,” according to its website.

Ekaya has explored numerous collaborations over the years and joined forces with women’s ready to wear label 431-88 by Shweta Kapur in January this year to launch a line of minimalist sarees designed for everyday and festive wear. The brand has also partnered with designers and creatives including Anu Merton, Aulerth Opaline, and Kunal Rawal among others, according to its website.

Working with a community of over 10,000 Indian weavers, Ekaya describes itself as India’s “first handloom luxury brand.” The label is a fourth generation family business originating in Banaras.
