Columbia Sportswear opens its first store in Delhi

Columbia Sportswear has expanded its retail presence in the Indian market with the launch of its new store in the national capital city of New Delhi.

The store located at Connaught Place will offer a wide range of products, including accessories such as beanies, belts, gloves, sunglasses, socks, caps, hip packs, wallets, and tubular items. Additionally, the store will house footwear, sportswear, and outdoor apparel.

Columbia had first entered the Indian market in December 2013 as part of a distribution partnership with Chogori India Retail Limited and opened its first brick-and-mortar store in the country.

The brand has aggressive expansion plans for India and aims to open 50 stores nationwide by the end of this year.

Commenting on the launch, Ankur Bhatia, CEO of Chogori India Retail Ltd in a statement said, “Establishing our presence in New Delhi marks a pivotal move toward our vision of making outdoor adventure accessible to all. Our mission is not only about opening stores but also to cultivate a culture of trekking and hiking in India.”

“Through this cultural promotion, we aspire to inspire more people to discover the natural beauty of our country and integrate outdoor adventure into their daily lives,” he added.

Based in Portland, Oregon, Columbia Sportswear is a global brand with a strong presence in the outdoor sportswear segment.
