Chloé and Borsalino have dropped a jointly designed capsule collection. The renowned Italian hat-maker has announced a collaboration with the fashion label owned by Swiss luxury group Richemont, whose Creative Director Gabriela Hearst is about to leave. The capsule collection consists of two straw hats.
It is the second collaboration announced by Chloé in a matter of a couple of weeks. At the beginning of June, the label revealed it had teamed up with a new label, Atelier Jolie, launched by actress Angelina Jolie, with whom Hearst co-designed an exclusive ready-to-wear collection.
With Borsalino’s artisan hat-makers, Chloé has created two models. The first is the Woody panama hat, entirely hand-woven and decorated with a linen and cotton hatband inspired by the eponymous Chloé handbag. The other is a women’s straw hat that features a leather belt as hatband.
“This project reflects our mission, which consists in pushing our limits beyond the horizons of artisanal luxury in order to rejuvenate our extraordinary heritage,” said Mauro Baglietto, managing director of Borsalino. This is the Italian hat-maker’s third collaboration with high-end French labels, after those with Vilebrequin and Ami Paris. The new Borsalino X Chloé capsule collection is already available at Borsalino stores.
Chloé has introduced a plethora of new projects while waiting for Hearst to produce her last collection for the label, for Spring/Summer 2024, which will be presented at Paris Fashion Week in September. For the time being, Hearst’s successor has not been announced. Among the names mentioned in recent weeks there is Julien Dossena, who has been creative director of Paco Rabanne for 10 years.
