Camaro looks to north and west india for retail expansion

Denim and casual wear brand Camaro aims to expand its retail presence across north and west India to reach more customers. The brand also aims to double its turnover to total Rs 200 crore in the coming three years.

“We are planning to expand our marketing network to Maharashtra, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh,” Camaro’s executive director R K Patawari told India Retailing. The business currently counts more than 1,000 dealers in its distribution network, with its main strongholds located in Orissa, Bihar, Assam, and Bengal.
 
The brand has expanded its product selection to include a junior denim line, according to its website. Available in boys sizes from 22 to 42, the line focuses on classic style denim jeans and compliments its men’s and women’s collections.
 
Camaro has also expanded its offering to include comfort wear, a product category that has grown in India significantly since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. Denim clothing currently accounts for 60% of the brand’s revenue and Camaro aims to continue to keep it as a core product category moving forward.
 
Bhawarlal Alok Kumar launched the Camaro brand in 1991, according to the label’s website. Camaro’s retail presence spans Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, North Bengal, Orissa, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, and Nagaland.
