“We are delighted to have had our first ever season launch party in the vibrant city Hyderabad,” said AstorMueller’s COO and India retail head Sandip Baksi in a press release. “The Hyderabad store is the first store of South India. We see a huge opportunity here. We already have stores at Delhi and Indore and this is the third store in India.”

The brand plans to continue to expand its brick-and-mortar presence across India to reach more shoppers. Bugatti plans to open a second store in Hyderabad in the coming six months and also has its eyes on Visakhapatnam and Rajahmundry for retail expansion.

“We have finalised stores at Bangalore, Pune, there are few others with locations finalised and are in the pipeline,” said Baksi. “Our objective is to reach out to the top ten cities of India by the middle of next year. The investment for the ten stores is Rs 20 crores. Our investment in the overall business in India is far larger, we today export fifty lakh pairs per year.”

The business currently counts over 500 employees in India and runs factories in Ambur and Agra to manufacture both its own footwear and footwear for its partners. In addition to shoes, Bugatti also manufactures accessories including handbags and backpacks as well as shoe care and related accessories.
