Wearables and electronic accessories brand Boat has partnered with deep-tech digital mapping business Mappls MapmyIndia to launch its first ever smartwatch with navigation services. The ‘Storm Call 3’ has gone live on Boat’s direct to customer e-commerce store and on a number of multi-brand platforms.
With its new smartwatch launch, Boat aims to make navigation services accessible to a wide audience with its “budget friendly” price point, the brand announced in a press release. The smartwatch is manufactured in India and also includes an SOS feature, over 700 activity modes, and BT calling capabilities.
“The Storm Call 3, another innovation by Boat, brings state-of-the-art technology within the grasp of every individual,” announced the brand in a press release. “This smartwatch features an independent navigation system that operates autonomously, eliminating the need to look at the smartphone for navigation instructions. Powered by Mappls MapmyIndia, along with Boat’s Crest App, the Storm Call 3 ensures precise turn-by-turn navigation right on your wrist, working across the length and breadth of India, covering tens of thousands of cities and lakhs of villages, giving accurate and detailed doorstep level guidance to you.”
The smartwatch comes in four colour-ways of ‘Cherry Blossom, ‘Active Black’, ‘Olive Green’ and ‘Silver Metal’ and retails for an introductory price of Rs 1,099. With games, health features, and an internal battery, the smartwatch is designed to help wearers to reach their destination with ease.
