Trade show Bharat Tex expects to welcome over 3,500 global textiles, fashion, and sustainability exhibitors at its 2024 event which will run from February 26 to 29 in New Delhi and have a combined floor space of two lakh square feet.
The trade show describes itself as “the largest global textile event in India,” according to its website and the event will take place in two venues: Yashobhoomi and Bharat Mandapam. Bharat Tex will showcase the entire textile and apparel value chain and highlights how the industry is a major focus area ahead of the upcoming general election.
“Indian manufacturers cater to big brands, largely as vendors,” an industry source told TNN. “We need to create Brand India, as local players should emerge as bigger players on the international scale. That will also help in improving unit value realisation.” Bharat Tex aims to increase India’s standing in the global textile and apparel trade by showcasing its craftsmanship and forging links with international businesses.
The four-day event will invite global CEOs and policymakers as well as brands and retailers, ET Bureau reported. Bharat Tex expects to welcome around 3,000 overseas buyers from 40 countries and territories as well as over 40,000 Indian buyers, sources told the Times of India.
