“The ‘Being Conscious’ Range is our commitment to making sustainable fashion mainstream,” said Being Human Clothing’s chief executive officer Sanjeev Rao, India Retailing reported. “Our Fairtrade collaboration ensures that we are making a real difference in the lives of those who produce our clothing and those who will conserve the planet.”

The range includes shirts which have been made by the Anandhi Farmers Association in Tamil Nadu, promoted by Anandhi Textstyles. The chinos in the collection have been produced by the Manavadar Organic Farmer’s Association and promoted by Suminter Organic Junagadh district in Gujarat. Indian consumers are increasingly valuing sustainability when shopping for apparel and this has encouraged many brands to make their production practices more eco-friendly and ethical.

Being Human Clothing currently counts over 90 exclusive brand outlets and also retails its clothing in over 400 multi-brand outlets across India. The brand also counts over 200 shop-in-shops and retails online on India’s major multi-brand platforms as well as its own.

Being Human launched in 2012 with the aim of helping to fund ‘Being Human – The Salman Khan Foundation,’ a charitable organisation led by Khan. The brand plans to focus on international expansion for its next phase of growth and will open stores in Bangladesh, Canada, and the Middle East in the near future.
