“Balenciaga has officially landed in India,” announced Reliance Brands Limited on Facebook. “Congratulations to the Balenciaga team on their exciting launch in India! Wishing them great success as they bring the iconic brand to the vibrant Indian market.”

The store is located on an elevated ground floor space in the mall and also houses a selection of footwear, eyewear, and jewellery among other accessories. The space’s interior design follows the label’s ‘Raw Architecture’ concept which uses bleak, industrial design and raw edges to question the nature of authenticity.

“Brushed concrete floors resemble sidewalk tiles, while walls and shelving units are panelled with stained and aged concrete as well, creating the illusion of a liminal indoor/outdoor space,” announced Reliance Brands Limited on Facebook. “Ceiling grids, industrial lighting systems, and other technical fixtures are exposed overhead. Aluminium tables, hanging racks, and faux leather benches are patinated and worn to simulate warehouse fixtures.”

Balenciaga is owned by luxury retail giant Kering Group and the brand’s current creative director is designer Demna Gvasalia. The brand was first established by Cristóbal Balenciaga in 1919 in Spain’s Basque country and today retails across the globe.
