Designer Amrin Khan explored Persian design heritage with two new collections ‘Juliet’ and ‘Galicha’ at her eponymous brand’s runway show on the closing day of Sheetal Gharana Ahmedabad Times Fashion Week.
Amrin Khan’s latest designs fluttered down the runway with swathes of chiffon, sparkling adornments, and classic bridal glamour. Both collections, presented at a single showcase, featured a wide range of traditional bridal looks such as red and ivory lehengas and looked to the rich art history of Persia for their geometric details.
Juliet was a collection inspired by romance, which was reflected in its blush and neutral tones, use of chiffon capes, and delicate femininity. Galicha took its design motifs from Persian carpets and had a colour palette of deep reds and refined beiges. Notable looks from the showcase included a green-grey glittering gown and an ivory lehenga with a long, sheer cape.
Sheetal Gharana Ahmedabad Times Fashion Week held its second season to date, which concluded over the weekend, to showcase designers from across Gujarat and beyond. The fashion week featured designers including Jigya M, Sandhya Shah, Darshi Shah Bhavin Trivedi (DSBT), Seema Kalavadia, and Disha Vadgama among others and was supported by Gujarat Tourism with style partner Jade Blue.
Amrin Khan retails from its flagship store in Vadodara, Gujarat. The brand launched in 2007 and also carries a men’s line, according to its website.
