Rochas has named Alessandro Vigilante as creative director of its ready-to-wear collections. The Italian designer, who was involved in developing the French label’s spring 2024 collection, replaces Charles de Vilmorin, who left Rochas in April after a stint of only two years.
Vigilante’s appointment was confirmed by Rochas to FashionNetwork.com. His first official collection for the label will be Fall/Winter 2024, which will be presented during next February’s Paris Fashion Week, while Rochas is set for a come-back runway show in September 2024.
Vigilante previously worked in the design studios of labels like The Attico, Dolce & Gabbana, Philosophy by Lorenzo Serafini, and Gucci.
He graduated from the Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan, and he will continue to work also on his eponymous brand, which premièred at Milan Fashion Week in 2021.
Rochas was founded by Marcel Rochas in 1925, and was acquired in 2015 by French licensed fragrances specialist Interparfums, which manages the label’s perfume division and took direct control of its fashion operations in 2021. Rochas named Olivier Theyskens as creative director in 2002, and he was followed by Marco Zanini in 2008, Alessandro Dell’Acqua in 2013, and Charles de Vilmorin in 2021.
