Brand Studio Lifestyle has urged the government to empower startups and small businesses in its upcoming budget. Optimistic about its fashion sector policies, the business’ co-founder and CEO Shyam Prasad is also keen to see a focus on sustainability and digital infrastructure.
“As we look forward to the upcoming Union Budget, we are optimistic about policies that will bolster the fashion and retail industry. India is poised for significant growth in fashion and apparel exports, with notable performance in the sector,” said Brand Studio Lifestyle’s co-founder and CEO Shyam Prasad in a press release. “At Brand Studio Lifestyle, our focus remains on driving growth and innovation by enhancing customer experiences, strengthening our digital and retail presence, and delivering long-term value to our customers and stakeholders.”
Brand Studio Lifestyle Private Limited is a house of brands business with five Indian labels comprising Highlander, Ketch, Tokyo Talkies, Vishudh, and Locomotive according to its Linkedin page. The business retails its brands on its own ‘GetKetch’ portal as well as on multi-brand e-commerce platforms including Myntra and Amazon among others.
“We are confident that Union Budget 2025 will prioritise initiatives to empower startups, small businesses, and retailers through targeted incentives and announcements,” said Prasad. “Measures to simplify taxation, promote sustainable practices, and enhance digital infrastructure will be crucial for fostering industry growth. Additionally, a lower tax rate for new manufacturing units can open up more opportunities in India’s apparel sector. With the right support, our industry can continue to set global benchmarks in fashion while contributing significantly to the nation’s economy.”
