Ekaya collaborates with 431-88 for bold saree line

Luxury saree and womenswear brand Ekaya has collaborated with women’s ready to wear label 431-88 by Shweta Kapur to launch a line of minimalist sarees designed for everyday and festive wear.

“Are the wedding invites stacking up? Sail through the shifting seasons, wedding madness, and late-night dinner parties in our cocktail-ready styles from Ekaya x 431-88,” announced Ekaya on Facebook, sharing images from the collection. “They’re easy-to-drape, effortless, and sexy.

The collection has a vibrant colour palette of reds, royal blues, and magentas and features sculptural drapes in subtle prints or monochrome. Black and silver looks add drama and a number of fusion style sets add more streamlined silhouettes to the collection, which mixes Ekaya’s use of handloom textiles with 431-88 by Shweta Kapur’s bold, modern style. 

Ekaya describes itself as India’s “first handloom luxury brand,” according to its website and the label works with a community of over 10,000 weavers. The brand has collaborated with a range of fashion designers and creatives over the years including Anu Merton, Aulerth Opaline, and Kunal Rawal among others.
