Apparel brand The Souled Store plans to reach an India brick-and-mortar store total of 200 by December 2026, up from its current total of 36 exclusive brand outlets, and aims to launch larger sized stores for its upcoming openings.
“We take pride in the fact that all 36 of our stores have been profitable since their very first month,” said The Souled Store’s co-founder Harsh Lal, India Retailing reported. “Another 25 stores will go live in the next three months. By the end of this fiscal year, we aim to have 60 stores, and by December 2025, we plan to reach 120 stores. By December 2026, we expect to have approximately 200 stores. We are confident that by staying focused on the fundamentals and executing effectively, reaching 200 stores by that timeframe is realistic and achievable.”
The Souled Store’s current brick-and-mortar outlets measure between 1,300 and 1,400 square feet but the business plans to focus of stores sized between 2,000 and 3,000 square feet for its next round of openings. The Mumbai based brand also aims to establish a flagship store in each of India’s main metros which will be sized between 5,000 and 10,000 square feet to connect with shoppers in a more engaging way and to increase brand visibility.
So far, the majority of The Souled Store’s retail outlets have opened in malls across India. However, the brand is keen to establish a presence on high streets, which it expects to be able to accommodate larger store sizes. The brand also aims to focus on central and eastern India for its next store openings as it has fewer stores in these regions compared to other parts of the country.
Quick commerce is a fast growing market in India and many fashion retailers are tapping into its potential for growth. The Souled Store already offers same day delivery from its e-commerce store for a range of locations and plans to run pilots with quick commerce platforms to test out other swift delivery options.
