Landmark Group-owned value fashion brand Max Fashion is planning to strengthen its retail footprint in the Indian market with focus on the southern region.
The brand plans to open around 15 new stores in the south Indian states like Karnataka, Tamil Nadi, Andhra Pradesh among others in the coming year.
Currently, Max Fashion operates around 300 stores in the southern region of India and plans to further expand to fuel its overall growth.
“The South market has been more traditional. Firstly, the number of SKUs in the south and west is relatively higher than in the north and east. Secondly, as a Bangalore-based company that started here, it’s natural that we have expanded more aggressively in this region than anywhere else,” Sumit Chandna, deputy CEO of Max Fashion told Businessline.
“Expansion is the essence because that’s how you grow inorganically, and a large portion of my business actually comes from tier two and tier three cities,” he added.
Max Fashion which entered the Indian market in 2006 currently has over 515 stores across 210 cities and sells online through its website.
