South Indian actress Akshaya Alshi walked the runway as showstopper for Abhishek Dutta wearing blue and orange hareem pants printed with an oversized butterfly wing design and a glittering blouse which also featured shapes inspired by butterfly wings. The collection centred around the exclusive butterfly wing print which also came in rust and orange hues and featured on maxi dresses, draped kaftans, and men’ shirts among other garments.

Menswear in the collection added more classic elements such as black tailored trousers to make the vibrant prints more wearable. For women, grecian style drapes added movement to the collection’s silky textiles and asymmetry was used to add a modern feel.

Bangalore Fashion Week ran from March 8 to 10 at Bengaluru’s The Oterra hotel. The fashion week featured runway shows by designers and brands including Alexander and Sanjay M, Anamika Jaisinghani, and Butterfly Clothing and Accessories by Rishan Pariat among others as well as a student showcase by up and coming designers from the Indian Institute of Fashion Technology in Bilaspur.
