The Kamdhenu Group’s corporate social responsibility arm the Kamdhenu Jeevandhara Foundation held a sewing machine distribution drive to celebrate five years of its ‘Tailoring Training Program’ and encourage self-sufficient tailors in India.
“As we celebrate the fifth anniversary of our Tailoring Training Program, we reflect on the transformative journey we have embarked upon,” said the Kamdhenu Jeevandhara Foundation’s chairperson Radha Agarwal in a press release. “The program has not only empowered women with valuable skills but has also been a catalyst for positive change, breaking the cycle of poverty and contributing to the overall well-being of the community. We are immensely proud of the impact achieved over these five years and remain committed to furthering our mission of empowerment. Looking ahead, Kamdhenu Jeevandhara Foundation reaffirms its commitment to fostering sustainable change and creating a positive impact on the lives of those in need.”
The Kamdhenu Jeevandhara Foundation launched in 2019 and aims to eradicate child labour in the garment production industry and empower women to gain financial security. Selected participants from the program were given sewing machines free of cost to help them on their way to working as skilled tailors and contributing to India’s garment industry.
Kamdhenu Group operates in India’s steel industry. The business launched in 1994 and has a brand sales turnover of Rs 21,000 crore.
